As well as craft activities, over the last couple of months the HSS has held a senior's movie day each month. The next morning tea and screening will be the movie Judy, at the Quirindi Royal Theatre at 9.30am on Wednesday, March 11.
The cost is $5, and tickets should be reserved by calling either HSS office.
Judy is a biographical drama film about American singer and actress Judy Garland. It is an adaptation of the Olivier and Tony nominated West End and Broadway play End of the Rainbow by Peter Quilter. All seniors are invited and welcome to attend.
Seniors are also being invited to join with the local HSS and New England Sector Support in a discussion about how we approach wellness in our community and how to build wellness into it.
This event will be held at the Royal Theatre on Wednesday, March 25 from 10am-12pm. Morning tea will be provided.
Implementing a wellness approach is about building on an individual's strengths, capacity and goals to help them remain independent.
To attend the movie day or the wellness day, reserve a seat by calling Quirindi HSS 6746 4545 or Werris Creek HSS 6768 7505.
Werris Creek residents requiring transport should discuss options for the events. Those interested in more information about HSS can also call these numbers.
