Bodalla CWA members happily gathered for their November meeting on Thursday knowing they had won three awards at the Group AGM. "Now if 'winners are grinners' we are wearing great big smiles after receiving several trophies at the Group AGM in Bega on October 21," Bodalla CWA secretary Deb Ellis said. "We were thrilled to win "Best Branch Attendance (under 30 members)", "Most Entries in Cooking at Branch Level" and "Best Cultural Report" - a great effort." This month the Bodalla members dressed for ladies day at the races and were treated to a Cup luncheon after the meeting. During the meeting handicraft officer Liz Johanson displayed some of the baby rugs the craft ladies have been making for the Moruya Hospital maternity ward. Apparently the Bodalla CWA highly sought after Christmas Cake has been made and is now being finished off by decorator extraordinaire Barb Smith. Tickets for the Christmas Cake draw are available now and will be on sale in Tuross on December 12 with the winning ticket drawn at the branch Christmas party on Wednesday, December 18. The October meeting was also the branch AGM and following reports from members the meeting was handed over to Mrs Mary Williams, Far South Coast Group president to continue with all positions declared vacant. Bodalla office holders are much the same with Elizabeth Tough president, Debbie Ellis secretary and Leslie Loney treasurer. The inaugural Marion Emmott Award, a perpetual trophy for 'For providing outstanding support and inspiration to members' created by Mrs Emmott prior to her passing earlier this year, was presented to Bodalla CWA president Liz Tough. Preparations are underway for the Bodalla branch of the CWA's 90th Birthday celebrations next year.
