Clean Up Australia Day will be brought back to life in town thanks to Gunnedah Urban Landcare Group (GULG) and GW Group.

The event will be held on Sunday, March 3, the official Clean Up Australia date, and GW Group's Michael Cooke wants "the whole town to get behind it" because people were disappointed it didn't run in 2018.
GULG's Secretary George Truman said helpers would be divided up so no ground was missed.
“We’ll have done a plan of areas that need doing, so we can allocate groups, families, individuals so we don’t have people doubling up,” Mr Truman said.
“Target areas are Porcupine Reserve, Cushan’s Reserve, and along the river.”

They both said everyone was welcome, from the littlies to the older generation.
“It’s important to get the [kids] involved - they’re the next generation of litter collectors and recyclers,” Mr Cooke said.
It’s important to bring it to the forefront of everyone’s attention.

Mr Truman echoed this, and said that there was “no age limit because every little bit helps.”
Those wanting to get involved can register on the day at 7am at the rotunda at Wolseley Park.
“We encourage people to bring gloves, wear covered footwear and hats, and bring water,” Mr Truman said.
“We will also provide a free barbecue breakfast from 9am.”
