Ashleigh Poole is a PDHPE teacher and completed a Bachelor of Teaching (secondary) and Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (honours) at the University of Newcastle.
She was born and bred in Newcastle and moved to Gunnedah in the lead-up to Christmas.
“I am passionate about providing opportunities for all young people to engage in and experience success in physical activity, hence becoming a PE teacher,” she said.

Fellow new teacher Andy Kiele also moved from Newcastle and teaches HSIE.
Last year he taught at Belmont High School and is currently studying mathematics (teaching) through Charles Sturt University.
Andrew Gough teaches TAS and has moved from Goondiwindi. He taught at Boggabilla Central School for three years. Previously, he taught at both Goodooga and Lightning Ridge central schools.
Graeme Meredith teaches agriculture and science and Christine Patison is a new Learning and Support Teacher (LST). She was previously the principal at Mullaley Public School.
