The cancer patient support group is now listed as an option when locals put their recyclables through the machine in the Woolworths car park.

It is the first and only fundraising activity CanAssist has been able to launch this year because of the COVID crisis. Ordinarily, the active volunteers host an annual trivia night, mock debutante Halloween Ball and the Night of the Walking Dead, and man the gates at rugby games.
CanAssist will be on the Return and Earn list for six months, starting this week and the members are asking residents to throw them a bone so they can continue helping cancer patients with ongoing costs, such as travel.
If locals want to help by just collecting drink containers, the group said it is happy to pick them up.
Member Kristy Bain has already started a collection at her own workplace.
"Anything we can get is helpful," she said.
