Changes will be made to Gunnedah's residential kerbside bins and servicing as part of a new 10-year contract with R Richards & Sons.
A new collection routine with fortnightly pick up will begin on Monday, July 5. Households have been receiving recycling bins and a comprehensive information pack throughout the month of June.
Households will have received a larger 240-litre yellow lid recycling bin to replace the existing 120-litre recycling bin.
The larger yellow lid recycling bin will now be collected fortnightly, however the red lid general waste bin will continue to be collected weekly.
Green waste bins will be collected fortnightly on the alternate week to resident's recycling bins.

A council spokesperson said everyone should have received their new bins by now in preparation for next week.
"If anyone hasn't they can contact our Customer Service Team on (02) 6740 2100," she said.
Collection of the old recycling bins will begin on Monday, July 19, when all residents are asked to surrender their yellow lid bin by placing it upside down on the kerb for collection.
Unless residents have received a letter from council, bin collection days will not change.
Residents can also check their bin day by downloading the free Recycle Coach App and inputting their address when the new collection begins on July 5.
