Lane Cove will share more than $26,000 in gift cards and donations between its sister city Gunnedah, and Cobar to help in the drought.

More than $17,000 was raised through the council's Christmas Drought Fundraiser, which included more than $10,000 from two trivia events run by The Alcott Lane Cove and In The Cove, a website and Facebook page.
Lane Cove Council also donated $5000 and more than $3800 was raised through the Rain Bringer Christmas Concert hosted by Lane Cove Youth Orchestra and Hunters Hill High School. The funds will be invested in gift cards.
"This support has been quite remarkable and a wonderful stimulus for our residents as they realise that their sister city citizens in Lane Cove are willing to recognise our difficulties caused by drought," Gunnedah shire acting mayor Rob Hooke said.
"We are very proud that we have had such a partnership with Lane Cove residents for many years."
Lane Cove Council donated $5000 to Gunnedah in 2018, and the Gold for Gunnedah campaign, driven by In the Cove founder Jacky Barker, raised almost $30,000.
Gunnedah and Lane Cove became sister cities in 1990s when the shire was in drought.
