A highlight of the meeting was a request to close parts of Conadilly Street throughout certain times of the day on Sunday, April 25 for the ANZAC Day March.
Councillors Colleen Fuller and Jamie Chaffey made comments about how pleasing it was to see the return of the ANZAC Day march after it was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions last year.
"It was really disappointing we could not pay tribute to those who had served, but it was heart-warming to see our community join the Light up the Dawn initiative with candles at their homes," Cr Chaffey said.
"When we saw the health advice had changed and received the application from the Gunnedah RSL Sub-Branch to close roads for the commemorations, I have got to say, we were excited.
"It would have been devastating if we could not join together as a community to pay our respects two years in a row."
Another motion which was passed regarded the Section 356 Community and Sports Small Grants Program, with councillors David Moses, Owen Hasler and John Campbell being appointed to the panel to assess applications.

Sport was on the agenda again as council passed a motion to suspend the 24/7 alcohol free zone at Kitchener Park Reserve and Wolseley Park Reserve (excluding Livvi's Place Playground and Brocks Court) during the Tamworth Veterans Cricket State of Origin competition between NSW and QLD.
The event will be held on Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30, and Cr Chaffey stated it would be a huge positive for the community to host the event.
"I think it's great this is coming to Gunnedah, it will be good for our economy, it will be good for our restaurants, it will be good for our accommodation and it's great to see it supported," he said.
The mayor was involved again as he was voted onto the working group for the Reconciliation Working Group.
The purpose of the group is to "provide a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement and develop actions and outcomes that contribute to 'closing the gap' through the key areas of relationships, respect and opportunity", according to a council spokesperson.
Another major point to come out of the meeting was the decision to withdraw the Planning Proposal to Amend the Gunnedah Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2012 - Flood Planning Map.
Council has done this with the intention of resubmitting it to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment once the Blackjack Creek Flood Study has been revised.
