Miss Candi has joined the team and will work in the school's readiness room, which will be a learning curve for her as well as the students.
Having recently completed her certificate III and diploma for childhood education, she is at the beginning of her journey in the industry.
Bringing in somebody at the start of their career is a positive sign for Gunnedah Preschool (GPS), who are in desperate need of extra hands.
A lack of childcare in the region is something that has caused issues for the public in the past, and GPS director Courtney Baily revealed the problem is still present.
"We are full at Gunnedah Preschool and many families have expressed their need for additional days," she said.
"Preschool is definitely in high demand, especially with children nearing the end of their early years as they begin to prepare for their primary school journey."
It was recently announced that Gunnedah Family Day Care had hired a new educator in Currabubula, but a lack of significant interest in their services so far indicate the problem is very much within the town.
But for now, parents and carers can be pleased with the hiring of Ms Candi, who will be an excellent addition according to Ms Baily.
"We were delighted for Miss Candi to join our team so that she can learn on the job in our preschool setting whilst completing her studies," she said.
