A variety of issues are up for discussion on the March agenda including the Planning Proposal to Amend the Gunnedah Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2012 - Flood Planning Map.
Councillors will vote on a motion to withdraw the proposal and resubmit with the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment once the Blackjack Creek Flood Study has been revised.
A request by Tamworth Veterans Cricket Association to temporarily suspend the Alcohol Prohibited Area Declaration in Kitchener Park Reserve and Wolseley Park Reserve will also be decided on.
The temporary suspension would exclude Livvi's Place Playground and Brocks Court and allow for the sale, supply and consumption of alcohol during the Tamworth Veterans Cricket State of Origin competition between NSW and QLD.
The event will be held on Monday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
Ten teams of over 50's cricketers from across NSW and QLD are set to arrive in Gunnedah for the competition which is expected to attract over 4000 visitors.

The association is hiring Kitchener Oval, Wolseley Oval, Longmuir Oval, McAndrew Park and Namoi Playing Fields to stage the event, however Kitchener Park Reserve and Wolseley Park Reserve are both declared as 24/7 Alcohol Prohibited Areas.
Council's director of planning and environmental services Andrew Johns stated in his report in the March business paper the event would bring significant benefits to the local tourism industry.
"Visiting cricketers will be accompanied by friends and family, with many opting to stay in Gunnedah overnight," he stated.
"A 'Meet and Greet' will be held at the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club on Sunday, March 28 at 5pm, to which the mayor has been invited.
"The staging of such a prestigious event in Gunnedah represents a significant economic, tourism and sporting benefit for the Shire and is a unique opportunity to showcase the assets of Gunnedah and surrounds to visitors. "
The meeting will conclude with discussion of the Voluntary Planning Agreement for Whitehaven Coal's Narrabri Underground Stage 3 Extension Project, which will go before closed council.
The meeting will begin at 4.30pm, Wednesday, March 17, at Breeza Community Hall.
