The local girl has cerebal palsy and is restricted to a wheelchair, which has presented challenges for her mother Amy Elton who has been lifting her in and out of a car for years.
Now, thanks to NDIS funding and the support of locals, friends and family, Lucy is sitting pretty in a Volkswagon caddy, which has an access ramp.

"It's saved me lifting her in and out of the car, which is a big thing," Ms Elton said.
"It has made life so much easier already and hopefully it will serve us long into the future.
"It's been a bit of a godsend now and as she gets bigger."
The vehicle is also easier to manoeuvre because of its size.
"I wanted something a little bit smaller so we could get it downtown easily," she said.
Ms Elton said Lucy "loves" her new wheels and prefers staying in her chair instead of being lifted in and out of it.
"She's going really well and for long trips. She's been much more comfortable and happy in the van," Ms Elton said.
"She loves it. We've been going for drives while we were in isolation."
A fundraising campaign for a more suitable vehicle was launched in early 2019 and Ms Elton wanted to say "a huge thank you to everyone who helped us out".
