Sunday, July 19, would have been the late Maddie Smith's 26th birthday so every year, her parents Vicki and Barry, and younger sister Gabby raise funds for beyondblue in her memory. Maddie lost her battle with depression in 2016.
Usually, the Smiths set-up in the Woolworths carpark to sell sausage sangas, baked goods and raffle tickets, but the coronavirus has put a stop to that, so instead, they have placed collection boxes at the supermarket checkouts until Sunday. Staff are also wearing blue.
"Thank you to everyone who has donated so far," Mrs Smith wrote on social media this week.
"Now more than ever, we need to be there for each other."
