None have felt the sting more than Gunnedah's Daniel Poss, who had big plans for the season.
The father of two was planning to enter a family team in competitions for the first time this year.

"Everything has come to a complete stop, which is really disappointing," Poss said.
"The kids were really looking forward to it, but it is what it is.
"We were pretty much focusing on just the local stuff, so we were raring to go, but we will be back next season for sure."
Poss said launching a family team was becoming a popular trend within the Gunnedah racing community.
"It's not just us. I know Matt Cobb was aiming to get his kids involved in a team this year," he said.
"A few other families have already done it, so it is a real family affair. It makes it a real nice community atmosphere to be in."
The new season is expected to begin in November with Gunnedah's legends race meeting, provided COVID-19 restrictions have been eased.
"The only good thing about having to sit on the sidelines is that it has given us a good chance to get our cars in good shape," Poss said.
"We've been putting a fair bit of work in during our free time getting the cars as good as they can be.
"It's a bit of fun for us, given there's not much else going on. We're excited to come back and in the meantime, we are just counting down the days until we can race again."
