Gunnedah Tennis Club's Craig Louis said it was fantastic to have the pair in town, their two-day visit proving invaluable for the kids.
"To have them here in Gunnedah was very special," he said.
"You could just see the kids when we went to the schools, their little faces light up when they walked in."
The two had a hectic schedule.
After visiting St Xavier's Primary School and Gunnedah South Public School on Friday, they then helped run a super eights and super 10s competition, before passing on their expertise to some of the region's best junior female players at a special coaching session in the afternoon.

Open to girls from 11 through to 18, Louis said it was a bit of a one-off session to "try and give the girls a bit extra".
"It was pretty cool to have them assist with the girls," Louis said.
They ran through some drills with them, some of which Hewitt has been working on with the national program, and also spent some time one-on-one with the players talking to them about some of their tournaments and their programs.
"The girls we had there were really comfortable asking questions, and Casey and Jas were so easy for them to talk to," Louis said.
On Friday night they were the special guests at a dinner celebrating women in tennis at the Gunnedah Town Hall.
Louis said it was a great night.
Dellacqua and Hewitt then got the chance to watch some of the region's best in action at the North West Championships on the Saturday.
