More than $21,000 has been distributed to those who need it most to help them through these tough times.
First, the Royal Freemasons Benevolent Institute (RFBI) donated $20,000 to the Lions Club of Gunnedah. Using this money, the club then purchased vouchers totalling $5000 from each of four local stores.

The vouchers, from Hope's Fuel Supplies, Woolworths, Coles, and Aldi, will allow the recipients to purchase groceries, household items and fuel when needed. The four businesses also donated a combined $1100 to the cause.
The vouchers have gone to deserving families through an unnamed third party's networks.
Lions Club of Gunnedah president Jennifer Bower said she was "still in a bit of shock" that the funds became available and it was great it had "been distributed so well".
"It gave our club a great deal of pleasure to be able to help out our farming community in this manner," Mrs Bower said.
"We know the pressure that the farming community are under at the moment and we also know what a great help this is to those in desperate need."
She said she hoped the club would "be in a position to help out further if funds became available".
