Inspector Michael Wurth told the NVI that women had come forward to make the "concerning" reports in the last week.
"We have had a couple of reports of a male exposing himself to females in the area of Porcupine during the last week," he said.
"It is concerning because of the nature of it and because of the area of isolation as well.
"Police are investigating and have stepped up patrols in that area ... If there are any other persons, male or female, who have been exposed to this person, or have information, we would encourage them to come forward to report it."

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police are investigating the theft of a portable air conditioner.
"We had a break-and-enter where a portable air conditioner was stolen inside a house at O'Keefe Place," Inspector Wurth said.
"The incident occurred sometime between the morning of Tuesday and afternoon of the Wednesday."
Police are urging anyone with information on the incidents to come forward and contact instigators at Gunnedah Police Station on 6742 9099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
