Werris Creek pathway update on track

Works are expected to finish on Monday, May 13, weather permitting.

The project has involved the removal and reinstatement of approximately 45 metres of kerb and guttering by local contractor Werris Creek Concrete and Excavation.

Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) mayor Andrew Hope said it was great a local business was able to take on the task.

"With LPSC's focus on economic development and projects that inject funds and promote employment opportunities during the drought crisis, council is delighted that this project is fully 'Werris Creek In-house' funded and being constructed by a locally contracted business," Cr Hope said.

The construction site is still under traffic control, and Cr Hope urges motorists and pedestrians to be mindful of their surroundings and to be cautious while the work continues.

The pathway project began in November 2018 and is funded under the federal government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.
