With action varying from motorbike racing, to car racing, to greyhound racing there is set to be something for everyone, with the first of the action to begin on Saturday.
Getting into the spirit of the event is the Gunnedah Cycling and Triathlon Club, who for the first time ever, will be hosting a twilight triathlon.
Club member Lauren Robertson told the Namoi Valley Independent the event should be very entertaining.
"I think we are all really looking forward to seeing how it goes," Robertson said.
"Weeks of Speed has grown so much in recent years and hopefully this event can become an annual part of it.
"At this stage we have a fair few local competitors signed up and we are expecting quite a few to come over from Tamworth as well.
"There will also be a free sausage sizzle after it's all said and done, really there will be something for everyone."

Similar to the club's Australia Day course, the evening's main event begins at 6.10pm.
With the co-operation of Gunnedah Shire Council, the course will see competitors race through the closed streets of Gunnedah and battle it out in the recently-opened swimming pool.
"We do have to thank the council for collaborating with us on this," Robertson said.
"A twilight event is something we have never done before and we couldn't make it happen without them."
The event comes fresh off the back of stellar performances from club members at the Coffs Harbour Triathlon.
Gunnedah's Jacob and Liette Tindall shone at the event claiming first place in their respective age groups while also claiming top-four finishes in higher age groups.
Meanwhile, Lylah Tindall and Mullaley's Georgia and Charley Rose enjoyed personal best performances.
The youngsters backed up their exciting efforts with top-notch outings at the PSSA regional swimming carnival on Monday.
Fellow club member Mark Tindall said "the kids loved the experience" of competing in Coffs Harbour.
"They all had a great time and put in a super effort," Tindall said.
"I think it's fair to say we are very proud of them.
"To bounce back like they did as well and achieve some great things at the swimming carnival on Monday was massive as well.
"All of the kids are coached by John Hickey so a big thanks goes to him for getting them ready to compete at such a high level."
