The Senior Assist Program aims to deliver library resources to seniors in their homes, through the help of friends, relatives, neighbours or volunteers.
It was introduced by Narrabri Library as some individuals are incapable of accessing library services due to physical frailty or an inability to drive.
The program will be launched on February 13, the first day of Seniors Festival.

Library manager Jenny Campbell said it was a great program for the elderly community members.
"We are very happy to offer this additional service to our seniors, who may be missing out on reading because of their inability to visit the library,” Ms Campbell said.
Seniors who wish to participate in this program will be able to let library staff know the authors, genres and types of resources that interest them through an initial interview.
Staff will then make appropriate selections for our seniors, and then arrange to have the selection of items for borrowing ready for pick up by a helpful individual.
Narrabri Library said the collection or return process should “only take a few minutes”, so it is quick and easy for those helping the senior citizens.
