A not-for-profit retirement village in Gunnedah has received $3000 through the #GreaterNewEngland community funding program.
Yallambee Homes for the Aged received the most votes through the Greater Bank’s November funding round and will use the grant to help cover overheads and maintenance expenses, while keeping rent costs as low as possible.
The community-funded organisation provides residential aged care and independent living accommodation for local men and women over the age of 55 years and relies on community donations and minimal board collected from residents.
Voting is now open for the final funding round for 2018, with a Gunnedah trio in the mix – Gunnedah MS, Gunnedah Preschool and Swimming Gunnedah.
Members of the public have until December 19 to submit their votes to help determine who will receive the major funding up for grabs.
To submit a vote, visit greater.com.au/greaternewengland or any Greater Bank branch.
Greater Bank is also calling for nominations for future funding rounds. Community groups can nomainte by visiting greater.com.au/greaternewengland or via social media using the hashtag#GreaterNewEngland and telling the bank in 100 words or less how the organisation is helping to improve lives of locals.
