Emergency services were called to the scene on the Kamilaroi Highway at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon following reports of a motorcycle accident.
An Ambulance NSW spokesperson told The Namoi Valley Independent the 21-year-old rider was taken to the Gunnedah hospital by road ambulance with suspected head and spinal injuries.
“The rider was treated for serious injuries at the scene and Gunnedah hospital before being airlifted to the Tamworth Base Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter,” the spokesperson said.
“Luckily the rider was wearing a helmet.”
A Hunter New England Health spokesperson confirmed on Monday the rider remains in a stable condition in Tamworth hospital.
