Gunnedah farmer Sandy Ferguson donated the $1276 profit from the sale of his cow to the service.
Mr Ferguson said the donation was a the least he could do after the service came to the aid of his son after a motorbike accident last year.
“I thought we should do something to help,” he said.
“It is a very important service to all farmers and you never know when you might need it.”
Mr Ferguson said the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was a worth cause because it helped rural people like his family.
“It’s a free service and it really came in handy for us.
“We thought if there was something we could do to help such a worthy cause we would do it and that’s why we donated.”
