More than 2000 head went up for sale at the weekly sale as the usual buyers look to take advantage of consistently lowering prices.
Boggabri stock agent Guy Gallen said more producers are having to sell stock due to dry conditions.
“The whole market is under a little bit of pressure and starting to feel the pinch,” Mr Gallen said.
“We are still seeing very dry conditions around the area and April historically isn’t a great month for rain in our region.
“I have one client who has had to sell all of his stock due to the dry conditions and a lack of feed.”

Mr Gallen said he expects the number of cattle brought to the market to increase over the coming weeks.
“I would be very surprised if we don’t see a rise in numbers,” he said.
“Week-by-week we are seeing the quality of cattle come down, it’s becoming a no-win situation for farmers, even if it does rain it will now probably be too late.”
Gunnedah will next host a cattle sale on Tuesday April 3.
