Four members set out on Friday morning to deliver food hampers to the Gunnedah Ambulance Station, Fire and Rescue NSW Gunnedah 314, Gunnedah District Hospital and Gunnedah Police Station.
First off the ranks was the ambulance hamper, with paramedics Gary Revell and Luis R de Luzuriaga on site to accept the gift.
The food hampers are filled with all sorts of goodies including drinks, Nutella and chips.
Apex secretary Heather Lidwinski said a recent personal experience inspired her to do something to thank those who do so much for the community.
“Often they don’t get that thank you and they really deserve it,” she said.
“Sometimes they don’t get to see their family at Christmas and they’re always on call… so we wanted to give back.”
Mr R de Luzuriaga said the paramedics were thankful for the gift.
“We hoped everyone has an enjoyable and safe Christmas and holiday period,” he said.
“If anyone is travelling over the holiday period, remember to stick to the road rules and have regular rests on their trip.”
