Farrer Angus Stud made the decision more than 10 years ago to change the direction of the stud and the associated educational benefits to better reflect current consumer demands in order to provide students with more valuable educational outcomes in terms of employability.
Farrer’s vision for the Angus Stud is to provide students with a higher level of knowledge and practical skills relating to the operation of stud and commercial cattle enterprises with bulls which are suited to a variety of markets carrying superior structure, fertility, growth and EBVs.
Over the past several years staff have found that Farrer students in particular have been in high demand for employment throughout the Northern cattle industry, which has been attributed to the success of the beef production program.
