Jedd is a school-based trainee with Hunter New England Health and is completing a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
He has been supported at a school and system level by the school VET Coordinator, Vicki Isbester and Armidale Catholic Schools Office, Lilly Moar (Subject Matter Expert- Student Pathways).
"I love the connections that I have built with patients and staff at Gunnedah Hospital," he said.
"It is the perfect place to learn as the nurses have taken the time to teach me and focus on my learning.
"My advice for future trainees is to take one step at a time, focus on one task at a time and before you know it, everything will be complete."
Armidale Catholic Schools have approximately 70 Year 12 students studying either school based or eVET courses for 2024.
Director of Armidale Catholic Schools, Regina Menz congratulated Jedd on his achievement.
"Armidale Catholic Schools is committed to ensuring our young people realise a hope-filled future," she said.

"Part of this vision is our support for pathways for all students. We are proud of our growing offerings in the VET and Schools based traineeships and apprenticeships.
"I wish Jedd all the best at the awards ceremony. Congratulations to the staff who have supported Jedd and all our students."
The nomination builds on the success of McCarthy Catholic College Tamworth student, Molly Smith, who was runner up for the Australian School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year award in 2023.
This year's regional finalists will be announced on June 14 in Tamworth.
