But after a win in today's Gunnedah Maiden Plate at the Gunnedah Racecourse, mere weeks after a close second-place finish in the Scone maiden on April 4, the Scone-based trainer now knows he has an "up-and-coming" horse on his hands.

"His first run was in a really strong maiden at Scone, and he just got beat," Cavanough said.
"We want to run him at Scone over the carnival, so we need to get him a bit fitter. We thought we'd take that maiden up [in Gunnedah] and he got the job done."
The short 1000m race was the first of the day, and Just Strolling won by roughly a length ahead of Shikanic (trained by Scott Singleton) in second and Bootscooter (trained by Rodney Northam) in third.
It was a strong performance for Just Rolling, and equally so for the jockey, Amelia Denby, who has ridden for Cavanough five times and won four.
"She's a good person and works hard. She doesn't get a lot of rides but doesn't make a lot of mistakes when she gets them," Cavanough said.
With Just Rolling's career still in its infancy, Cavanough is confident he has the potential to keep producing good performances, potentially back-to-back, if given the right care.
"He's very well-bred. He'd be one to follow through, he could win two or three really quick," he said.
