The Bolters made the finals after they and the three other teams in the Sixers pool one conference played only one of three scheduled matches in Ballina this month. The other two games were washed out.
Because at least two games were not played, the Bolters advanced to the finals based on their No 1 pool ranking, said a Central North Cricket spokeswoman.
That ranking was based on the side's performance in last season's tournament, she said.
Mitchell Swain - who made 10 in the Bolters' only match this season, a two-wicket loss to the Coffs Coast Chargers - said the upcoming finals encounter was "very exciting" and "a massive opportunity".
"It's fantastic," he added.
In the other final at the SCG, the Newcastle Blasters and the Chargers will meet.
