However, the light at the end of the tunnel is as bright as can be.
Covid has been the problem as the pandemic delayed Prest's debut pro bout in early 2021 before covid again reared its head to interfere with the scheduling of her second professional fight.
When asked how many times a second fight has been cancelled or shifted, Prest genuinely can't answer. She's lost count.
But the 30-year-old has stayed focused and has been rewarded with a spot on No Limit Boxing's Xmas Bash.
"It's been a long wait but definitely worth it with the undercard that we're on and to get that opportunity to fight on one of the biggest promotions in Australia at the moment," Prest said.
"It's exciting to do it this time of year. It's a nice little Chrissy present for the end of the year."
The Xmas Bash - which will feature back-to-back fight nights - will include two World Boxing Organisation title bouts as well as the Paul Gallen v Darcy Lussick boxing match.
Prest will fight on the opening night - Tuesday, December 21 - when she takes on professional debutant Ella Boot.
Prest doesn't know much about Boot other than that she's had "a good amateur career".
The fighter is just focusing on her own preparation but said: "It should be a good fight".
Along with the support from the Black N Blue Boxing crew in Gunnedah, she'll also have support from family in Young.
"Mum's coming from Young to watch the fight down in Sydney then she'll come back with us and meet my sister and little niece up here [in Gunnedah] for Chrissy," Prest said.
"It'll be a really lovely way to finish off the year."
