The improvements will be made thanks to grant funding of almost $76,000, which will also cover the refurbishment of Gunnedah Conservatorium's music rooms, which are housed in the town hall.
Conservatorium director Rebecca Ryan welcomed the positive news.
"These funds will help the conservatorium to expand and offer a more professional element to their program," she said.
"It will make presenting live music, from an audience point of view, a more enjoyable experience and it means we will be able to put more budget into the artists rather than the hire of more equipment."

Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said the improvements would help to "close the gap" between Gunnedah's facilities and neighbouring towns.
"Gunnedah Town Hall is also used by travelling performers and companies and the community can expect shows to bigger and better thanks to these new additions," he said.
The funding is part of round one of the Minor Works and Equipment Projects through the NSW government's Creative Capitol Program.
