Liverpool Plains Shire Council's road works team has begun extensive heavy patching repair works on Werris Creek Road between Quirindi and Currabubula.

Council said about eight kilometres of the patching will be completed prior to Christmas at an estimated cost of $200,000.
In March next year, the road will be resealed between 1.5km south of Currabubula to the Liverpool Plains Shire Council boundary at Sandy Creek 3.6km north of Currabubula.
Werris Creek Road handles about 2,500 vehicles per day so Council is asking drivers to be patient under the traffic control conditions.

Council's road works teams have been busy in other areas of the shire.
Pavement upgrade is presently being carried out on Signal St, Werris Creek between Kurrara and Gordon Streets and will be completed prior to Christmas.
An additional two kilometres of pavement overlay has been completed on the Coonabarabran Road.
In total, four kilometres of overlay has been carried out on the Coonabarabran Road over the last four months at a cost of $1,000,000.
Work has begun on the $1.36M Bulunbulun Road Upgrade and is expected to be completed early next year.
Council was successful in obtaining a grant for $1.36M to undertake 4.8km of road reconstruction on Morduval Lane. Work is expected to begin around March next year.
Major repairs to the sealed sections of Bundella and Blackville roads are also scheduled between February and May next year.
Gravel re-sheeting has commenced on Bundella Creek Road.
Last month it was reported that kerb and gutter replacement would be undertaken in Hill St and Church Ave, Quirindi.
This program has been deferred to allow further necessary kerb and gutter replacement in Punyarra and Lenord Streets, Werris Creek.
