The 19-year-old Launceston woman has just been accepted into an international driving challenge and finally has the chance to fulfil her ambition.
"I don't really have much experience in racing but ever since I was little I've grown up watching motorsports like the V8 Supercars with my dad and as I've gotten older I've been more into Formula One as well," she said.
While her on-track experience may be lacking, it is set to grow as she rises through the ranks of the competition.
Ms Howard has started competing in United Kingdom based "Formula Woman" which is aimed at increasing opportunities for women in the motorsports industry.
If selected as one of the 16 finalists Ms Howard will travel to the United Kingdom to come up against 15 other women from across the world - and if successful she will be trained and coached in Formula Woman McLaren GT4 race cars.
"I'm jut excited to get to do all the track assessment and just to be in the competition is a really great opportunity," Ms Howard said.
"It's really hard for women to get into motorsport and it's such a big cost to get started so having the competition you don't need as much money to get involved."
In order to make tracks in the contest Ms Howard will need to race her way around Symons Raceway over the coming months.
If her times are fast enough, she will be selected to jet off to England.
Ms Howard had started her contest experience off in the most perfect way, recording 100 per cent in the first online assessment and instilling confidence within herself.
"I'm feeling a bit confident at the moment but I'm not too sure what to expect from here," she said.
Only time will tell if Ms Howard has what it takes, but she said the Formula Woman director was just excited to hear someone from as far away as Tasmania was involved.
Regardless of what happens Ms Howard said she was rapt to get the wheels spinning on her first foray into motorsports.
"It's just such a great experience for women and it'll be good to get more involved in motorsports," she said.
