Jacqueline Emery has been appointed as CEO, following a four and a half year stint as Executive Director, Business, People and Culture.

Established in 1924, the respected charity is dedicated to connecting kids in rural and remote communities to the care they need.

In Gunnedah, Quirindi and Narrabri regions it has 100 children using a variety of programs including Telecare, disability support services through its Windmill Program and a Paediatric Developmental Program.

Ms Emery replaces outgoing CEO Lindsay Cane AM who stood down after decade at the helm so that she could move across to manage Royal Far West's redevelopment project.

She begins her role on July 12, and Royal Far West have described her as a "powerful ambassador" who is dedicated to "improving and enhancing the health and wellbeing of country children".

She brings to the role a long and distinguished record of leadership in start-ups, large listed and private companies and not-for-profits.

She has also held leadership roles in some of Australia's most well-known organisations including The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD); Australian Financial Review Group and Reader's Digest.

Ms Emery said she is honoured to take on the new role as the organisation enters an exciting new chapter which will culminate in its centenary.

"We will continue to go the extra country mile for rural and remote children, families and communities to ensure that country kids have the supports they require for healthy development that can enable them to thrive," she said.

"I am excited to get started in the role and work closely with the team to deliver on our new strategic plan and build on the amazing legacy of our outgoing CEO Lindsay Cane AM".
