A strike force has been launched and police are appealing for information after a man died following an assault in Coonabarabran last week.
Emergency services were called to a home on Nandi Street following a reports a man had been found injured, about 7pm on May 12.
Officers from the Orana Mid-Western police were told a group of people had gathered at the home, when a 53-year-old man was found at the front of the house with serious injuries to his head and face.

The injured man was taken to Coonabarabran hospital before being airlifted to Sydney's St George Hospital where he later died.
Police established a crime scene and detectives from the Orana Mid-Western Police District and the State Crime Command Homicide Squad launched an investigation.
Investigations into how the man suffered his injuries are continuing and police have gone public with their appeal.
Investigators are urging anyone that may have been in the area or witnessed the incident to contact Coonabarabran detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
