Eligible Shire community organisations seeking funding assistance through LPSC's Community Funding Program are reminded that applications close on Saturday 1 May. Download an application form or call the Customer Service Desk on 6746 1755 to have one emailed out. Full eligibility criteria is provided with the downloaded application form. Completed application forms should be emailed to lpsc@lpsc.nsw.gov.au or posted to PO Box 152 Quirindi NSW 2343 to arrive by May 1.

Council's Community Funding Program recognises the vital contribution that community groups and organisations play in the development of our social capital and quality of life. There are 3 funding streams, seed funding aims to encourage the development of new events in the Shire, growth funding is offered to assist event organisers to improve their existing event and to build strategic capacity within it, and infrastructure improvements funding is to assist local sporting and recreational clubs towards infrastructure upgrades.
If you're 18+, have you applied yet for your Dine and Discover NSW vouchers yet? If you're a local business have you registered to participate in the scheme? Local businesses have done it tough over the past 14 months during Covid-19 restrictions. Local businesses that have Covid-safe plans in place can register and once approved as a Dine and Discover NSW business, will be able to accept and redeem vouchers straightaway through the Service NSW for Business app. To register and to find out about the eligibility criteria head here.
All residents 18+ are entitled to two $25 vouchers to be redeemed at participating food venues, and two $25 vouchers to be redeemed at participating entertainment venues. Head here for details on how to apply and to find local participating businesses in Quirindi, Werris Creek, Willow Tree, Currabubula Spring Ridge and Premer. Using your free vouchers at a local establishment can help provide them with welcome economic stimulus.
In recent years, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow has been a very popular event on the Shire calendar. Many people make group bookings to enjoy the night with their friends. The event always features some of Australia's funniest comedians. The show was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 but is returning to the Royal Theatre Quirindi on Friday 2 July.
