Year 12 Gunnedah High student and vice-captain, Aidan R de Luzuriaga recently participated in the 26th Constitutional Convention at Parliament House.

Along with 110 other senior students from all over Australia, Aidan was involved in the re-writing of the Preamble to Australia's Constitution.
Following presentations from Constitutional experts and parliamentarians, students participated in workshops to formulate their ideas about the values that would be presented in their Preamble.
Students from other capital and regional cities communicated through Zoom.
On the final day, a referendum was carried out to determine whether the Preamble should be part of the Constitution. it was a decisive Yes vote.

In the time that he was there, Aidan was able to meet with local member Kevin Anderson, Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning, Sarah Mitchell and Minister for Agriculture, Adam Marshall who all gave insights into their political lives.
