Given the broadness of the sector, GSC has included a long list of people or groups that will be classed as an eligible applicant.
The grants will be open to those in the acting, announcing, fine art and craft, directing, animation, dancing and choreography, entertainment and performance, music and singing, photography, production and writing industries.
Mayor Jamie Chaffey stated he was excited to provide arts groups with a chance to start or expand some projects.
"Encouraging a vibrant and colourful cultural sector in our community helps add to the great lifestyle we have in Gunnedah Shire," he said.
"The aim of this funding program is to allow groups to continue with their existing successful projects or to support new projects and initiatives that meet the needs of our growing community while strengthening our cultural identity and our connection to place.
