To help do this, she will be running a forum alongside Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA) president Cassandra Coleman at Smithurst Theatre on Saturday, February 27 at 9am.
They will cover a range of topics at the event, including what to expect in local government, what support is offered to women in council and what educational opportunities are available through ALGWA.
Cr Fuller, who is the country vice-president of the association, said the role is rewarding but not easy.
"It's not a job that you just walk in and think there's just one meetings or two meetings or three meetings a months, there's a lot more involved with council and there's several committees you work on," she said.
Australia has had a number of high-profile female mayors, such as former Lord mayor of Sydney Lucy Turnbull, current Lord mayor of Sydney Clover Moore and Lord mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp.

Cr Fuller believes this is indicative of the increasing popularity of local council with women, and said it was clear they had much to offer.
"I believe there's areas that men work much better in than what women do, and I believe that women have so much more to offer in so many other areas, so I think you need the balance in council," she said.
"Community service areas, domestic violence, all of those areas are part of local government now and women need to be able to have that support and be able to support their community."
She said another advantage of joining council is it opens up opportunities to become part of boards at a local, state or even federal level, which help shape policy that effects a wide range of people.
A forum will also be held in the Liverpool Plains that afternoon, and they will be up in Narrabri in March.
