IT'S a nice luxury to be able to just pop down to the markets on a Saturday morning, especially if you can pick up some fresh produce and grab a coffee as well.

That is the reality Coal n Steel Smokehouse owner Cassandra Urquhart is trying to create as she looks to grow the fortnightly markets that are held outside her business.
Held every two Saturdays between 9am and 1pm, the next event will take place on Saturday, February 20.
It is a small operation at the moment, but Ms Urquhart is hoping to increase her capacity and the diversity of stalls in the near future.
"At the moment I can fit about five out the front but eventually I'd like to move out the back, but we just need to fix it all up and that costs money to do so, so that will still be a little way off," she said.

One of the things she aims to have featured at the markets is fresh produce, and she is urging anyone who may be interested in selling their fruit or vegetables to contact her - especially given there will be no charge to set up a stall.
While it has been difficult to get the word out there so far, she believes it will eventually gain a following and stated that while she would love for residents to come in and have a meal at the smokehouse, they don't actually need to if they want to attend the markets.
"Generally it's just people who are coming in for breakfast that are looking at it, and we're trying to promote that they don't need to come in here to buy a coffee and stuff," she said.
"It's more about supporting the businesses that are out the front."
Anybody interested in setting up a stall is encouraged to call Ms Urquhart on 0428 680 764.
