Tamworth's Lauren Francis was hot and felt like she was "melting" on the hot summer day when her partner Kyle Brennan asked her to go for a trip to Quirindi.
"When we got to the flowers, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him," Miss Francis said.
"I was so happy, my mood changed straight away and I've been happy ever since."

The happy couple met in Tamworth a couple of years ago, and Lauren said the proposal came as a very welcome surprise.
"I thought we were going because I really wanted to see the sunflowers, and being Australia Day, we needed something to do," she laughed. "Now I'll remember that for the rest of my life."
The stunning sunflower field dripping in colour has been planted near Quirindi, and has proven to be a delightful destination for locals and tourists.
The Liverpool Plains Shire has a bright history with sunflowers, and is known for growing the popular plants.
Miss Francis said she was in awe of the grower's generosity for allowing people to explore the field.
"I would just say, thank you so much for doing this for everyone," she said.
"I took a sunflower for each of our parents and grandparents, so they can keep it and maybe even plant the seeds and try to keep it going."
Miss Francis said she plans on "soaking up" the sunny news for a while, before her and her fiance get into wedding planning.
And, maybe a bouquet of sunflowers will be part of it.
