Those who are looking to upgrade or innovate their businesses are being asked to apply for the funding which is designed, in the long run, to help grow the town's economy.

In round two of the BPP, 12 local businesses received grants that ranged from $800 to $50,000, totalling a cost of $127,550.

On Wednesday morning, their successful applications were officially recognised at a ceremony at the Civic.

The quality of the projects that were approved in the last round were excellent and will grow the economy and create more local employment opportunities, according to chair of the Business Partner Program Advisory Group, Councillor Ann Luke.

"The standard of projects included in the round show just how successful this program is in assisting new initiatives that boost employment and secure a stronger local economy," she said.

"We really encourage anyone who is thinking about expanding their business or starting something new to submit an application.

"Even a small amount can make a big difference in getting a project off the ground."

Additional funds will be available in round three, due to the Community Resilience COVID-19 Business Recovery Package Invigorate Gunnedah.

Applications for the latest round of the Business Partner Program opened on Monday and will close at midnight on 28 February 2021.
