The submission period is now open for the Development Application, DA 48/2020, submitted by Wynergy Pty Ltd for a solar farm on Black Gully Road.
The estimated cost for the 5MW Solar PV Electricity Generation Facility is $7,593,853.
The build will see a grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) plant including associated electrical generation built, supplying no greater than five megawatts.
It will be comprised of an estimated 12,960 PV panels using a single axis tracking system.
The project is one of Wynergy's solar initiatives being rolled out across regional Australia.
It states aims to "maximise solar energy production whilst at the same time coexisting with the existing agricultural production".
The land is a 10 hectare rural type lot, mainly used for primary production.
It's comprised of scattered trees, low grassland, drainage lines and associated dams.
It is intended that livestock would graze the land under the panels once the solar farm is constructed.
The Statement of Environmental Impacts says there are a number of unnamed, but mapped, watercourses presently draining to Werris Creek.
The statement details a formal pre-development application meeting was held on July 9 this year with council staff.
The proposed development was presented with a general discussion, and the report says the "meeting feedback was positive".

The Joint Regional Planning Panel is the consent authority for the proposal, as it's classified as a regionally significant development under State Environmental Planning Policy, 2011.
With 18 supporting documents available on Liverpool Plains Shire Council's website, residents must make any submissions of objection before close of business on Wednesday, November 25.
