Carinya Christian School year 7 students Wesley Law and Mitchell Slee (team 'Eco Deco') and year 8 students Anna Bishop and Alice Roach (team 'Water Warriors') were all winners in the event.
They were just four of more than 100 kids from Gunnedah and Tamworth who took part in this year's race, which is in it's eighth year.
Each of the teams had to complete a variety of challenges, based on learning more about sustainability within a range of subjects, like STEM, agriculture, geography and art.

Wesley and Mitchell both enjoyed making a speaker out of nothing but two cups and an empty toilet roll.
They also learnt about koalas, and Wesley noted that they found out there was 506 koalas within 10km in Gunnedah.
He said the reason why he chose to participate was to learn more about sustainability to "keep the environment healthy for future generations".
Sustainable North West event organiser, Veronica Filby, said the event was first created to "educate high school students around sustainability and to help them be more sustainable in their communities".
She said she hoped next year's enviro race may "go back to normal", but doing it virtually wasn't too much of a hassle this year, if need be.
"Hopefully we will make a decision March or April next year," she said.
