Mary Ranken Child Care Centre
Children and adults alike got into the Halloween spirit this week at Mary Ranken Child Care Centre, with everyone getting dressed up.
There were witches and princesses, and even Spider Girl and Harry Potter made an appearance.
Quirindi High School
Meanwhile, at Quirindi High School, year 11 legal studies students visited Quirindi Police Station.
As part of their HSC learning on the 'Criminal Investigation Process' students have been reviewing topics including police powers, reporting crime, investigating crime, arrest and charge, bail and remand.
The visit a positive way to solidify the information covered in class.
Oxley Police District Sergeant Brown volunteered his time and expertise to take the students through a typical 'charge' process undertaken by a General Duties Officer.
"The students were able to see first-hand the official process followed when a suspect is brought to the police station, where in the station the suspect has to wait while the investigation takes place, and the steps required for someone to be granted bail," legal studies teacher Mr Owen said.

Mr Owen said the visit enabled students to have the most up-to-date information for reference in their HSC exams next year.
"The class will now to continue to study what happens as a suspect travels through the criminal justice system - including information from a practicing solicitor, and a visit to the former gaol at Maitland to witness what incarceration is like," he said.
Some students in year 11 were also given positions on the Student Representative Council, and others are enjoying the school's mentoring program with various teachers.
Gunnedah Public School
