Meanwhile, Mary Ranken Child Care Centre kids donned their hats and walked down to the Gunnedah Bicentennial Creative Arts Gallery for a special tour led by Gunnedah Shire Council's cultural precinct team leader Lauren Mackley.
Ms Mackley explained the story behind the new award-winning Rainbow Serpent water feature at the front of The Civic Centre, and the youngsters enjoying examining the mosaic tiles created by a group of Kamilaroi women almost 20 years ago.
The kids also went inside the gallery to learn about the other art installations on show.
