"Of course, the [Super Series] final ... is the target I am concentrating on for now," Syphers told the Greyhound Recorder.
"But I believe he [Murphey] has enough ability to be given his chance in the Million Dollar Chase. That's the plan."
Murphey has raced 17 times for eight wins and six placings.
He won his heat of the Super Series, at Gunnedah last Thursday, by 12 lengths in a scorching 24.68 seconds.
"We have always had a huge opinion of him," Syphers said.
"But his early education did not go as we would have wanted.
"And back in September last year ... he just switched off for some reason."
Since being sent "back to school" and returning to the track in May, Murphey has had four wins and two thirds from seven starts.
