Lisa Steele was elected president of Swimming Gunnedah at the recent annual general meeting taking over the reins from Justin Hobson who has stepped down due to work and family commitments.

The annual general meeting and election of the new board had been postponed a number of times due to COVID-19 restrictions but the club is now back in action and working with pool staff to follow the guidelines in place during the pandemic.
Steele will be supported in her role by vice-president, Jen Lush, who has also taken on the role of club night organiser.

Brian Coombs has returned as secretary/carnival secretary, with new board member Chris Jones welcomed as treasurer and Nichole Carlyon appointed the committee member, with Renee Campbell as registrar.
The club adopted a new and updated constitution at the meeting.
It has been a tumultuous year for the organisation with the early closure of the outdoor pool due to a leak, followed by the COVID-19 pandemic which saw pools closed across the state and competitions cancelled.
Meanwhile, coach John Hickey has been building up the squad's basic fitness with staggered training programs enhanced by dry land training undertaken during the pool closure.
Hickey has incorporated two to three sessions most afternoons and a session each morning, with Lisa Steele juggling the 'roster' and co-ordinating numbers in the training lanes.
