A section of the Oxley Highway in Gunnedah will be closed from Monday as work on a new roundabout progresses.

Transport for NSW said traffic will be diverted onto the two northern approaches of the roundabout and the Oxley Highway will be closed from Boundary Road to Stanley Street.

Traffic coming from Tamworth and Quirindi will enter the roundabout from the eastern approach and exit onto Bloomfield Street.
Oxley Highway traffic leaving Gunnedah and heading east towards Tamworth and south-east towards Quirindi will be diverted onto Wentworth Street, then right onto Bloomfield Street before proceeding through the roundabout.
Heavy vehicles will continue to use the current bypass onto Wentworth Street.
Local access will be provided for residents on the Oxley Highway between Boundary Road and Stanley Street.
Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, weather-permitting.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
