Gunnedah Shire Council's infrastructure services director Jeremy Bartlett wrote in the July business papers that the current lift "currently required repairs, leaving it out of action".
"Upon investigating repair work, it has been revealed to staff by a number of suppliers that the complex's current model is unable to be repaired to Australian Standards, therefore requiring a replacement," Mr Bartlett wrote.
"The disability access lift is used in the indoor heated pool on average four days a week for patrons living with a disability and who are unable to access the pool via the stairs or with other assistance."
Mr Bartlett added that the new lift would be more convenient and simple for staff to use, and more comfortable and discreet for patrons using it.
This lift is set to be replaced in the next few weeks.
