The club received $1000 to run workshops for interested crafty locals through the Gunnedah Shire Council Arts and Cultural Grants Fund, but COVID-19 restrictions mean they may not run this year.
Club secretary Geoff Dawson was pleased when the announcement was made, and hoped a workshop might be held early next year.
"We're very happy about receiving the funding [because] it helps reduce the cost for members that attend, and obviously there's a cost involved but it reduces it," Mr Dawson said.

The club also had to cancel its Introduction to Pottery course due to the pandemic. This was being held through Gunnedah Community College in April.
Mr Dawson was uncertain of when this course may run again, naming social distancing as one of the main issues.
"With the current restrictions, we can only have four or five [students] in there max, and usually we have six to eight. On the nights there's also two members," he said.
"Hopefully we'll be back to normal in 2021."
The secretary said the club's annual general meeting was being held soon, so the uncertainty may cease then.
